He was predeceased by: his parents, G. W. Prater and Theo Prater of Blossom, Texas.; his wife Janice; his daughter Shanna; and his siblings, Wesley and Maryhelen.
He is survived by: his brother Jim Prater (Otisa); his nephew Clint; his children, Bill (Madonna) and Glenanna (Mike O'Mara); his grandchildren, Jeremy, Nina Prater, Joshua, Jessica Prater, David O'Mara, Kimberly O'Mara, Rose (Clay Hickey), Nathan Davis, Rae, Taylor, Cody, Lane and Gabby Wertenberger; and his great grandchildren, Owen Prater, Rona Laden, Truman Laden, Tiaya Prater, William Prater, Liam Hickey, Ryder Landon Drane, Jaiden Drane and Gunner Cain. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
