He was predeceased by: his parents, Doroteo Ramirez (Soledad Diaz Ramirez) and Coahuila; his wife Margarita Ramirez; and his son Juan Hipolito Ramirez. He is survived by: his children, Maria Soledad Arellano (Fransisco), Blanca Margarita Perez (Jose Luis), Carmen Vargas (Pablo), Romelia Perez (Sergio), Isidro Ramirez (Manuela), Yolanda Aracely Hernandez (Victor Elias) and Raquel Ramirez. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
Instead of floral remembrances, the family suggests that donations can be made to any dementia charity foundation to honor Leopoldo's memory.
