It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John T. Ashworth in Bon Wier, Texas, who passed away on April 6, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Emerson Ashworth and Bessie Lewis White; his wife Matilda Ashworth; his children, John T. Ashworth, Jr., Lewis Ashworth and Linda Ashworth; and his siblings, L. C. Ashworth, Adolph Lewis Banks, Earnestine Colton, Bea Spikes and Adell Marie Banks.

He is survived by : his children, Janice Ashworth, Michael Ashworth (Martha Ashworth) and Mark Ashworth (Jacinta Ashworth); his sister-in-law Emma Spikes; and his niece Ambika Seastrunk. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Viewing was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Live Oak Church of God in Christ (8103 FM 1416, BON WIER, TX 75928). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at the Belgrade Cemetery (Bon Wier, TX).
