We announce the death of Carol Evelyn Collett (Borger, Texas), who passed away on September 20, 2026, at the age of 79. Carol will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Murray and Nora Forrest Newlon Murray; her husband Lee Roy Collett; her son Donald Collett; and her siblings, Bob, James, Gary and Nita.
She is survived by: her daughters, Shari Baker of Fritch, Debora Lovato of Borger, Jamie Sawvel of Borger and Addison Collett of Fritch; and her brothers, Paul Murray (Penny), Norman Murray (Maria) and Gordon Murray (Linda). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a host of extended family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors (314 S Hedgecoke St, Borger, TX 79007). The lying in state will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Minton Memorial Chapel (314 S Hedgecoke St, Borger, TX 79007).
In lieu of flowers, her memory may be honored with a gift to American Parkinson Disease Association.
