He was predeceased by: his wife Lula Faye; his parents, Lee Alexander and Jessie Lee Gipson (Shipman); his son Russell Delbert (Rusty); and his siblings, Duanne Gipson, Betty Butler, Wanda Locke, Neta Ault, Barbara Ferril and Dorthy Gipson.
He is survived by: his sons, Rob Gipson (Linda) of Amarillo, Rick Gipson (Lee) of San Isabel, Colorado, Derick Gipson (Debra) of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Dain Gipson (Jenny) of Hempstead, Texas.. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.
