He was predeceased by: his parents, Jackie L. Sims and Janie Mae Sims (Sandlin); and his sister Theresa Sims. He is survived by: his children, Austin Sims of Texas, Ashton Sims (Anthony Bates) of Amarillo and Abby Kean (Nicholas) of Baytown, Texas; his brother Jason Sims of White Deer, Texas; and his grandchildren, Sofia Sims-Lopez, Sawyer Lantelme, Sunni Bates and Avery Bates.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 10th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Minton Memorial Chapel (314 S Hedgecoke St, Borger, TX 79007). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 10th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Panhandle Cemetery (1000 E 6th St, Panhandle, TX 79068).
