She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Mertz and Marge Mertz; her son David Van Meter; and her granddaughter Annie Duarte. She is survived by: her husband Richard Van Meter; her children, Christine Gatewood, Jennifer Diaz, Lisa Crowe, Lorie Carter (Kenneth), Todd Gatewood (Kristina), Chris Van Meter (Kim) and Rick Can Meter (Lisa); and her siblings, Wendy (LeRoy), Ralph (Heidi) and Jerry. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
