It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jerry D. Shawn of Boyd, Texas, who passed away on May 9, 2026, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his brothers, Harold Jr., Harley and Larry Shawn; his brother-in-law Larry Smith; his son-in-law Dale Peebles; and his pets, Candy and Nippy.
He is survived by: his wife Connie Smith; his children, Sindy Peebles (Doug Scroggins) and Sandy "Bud" Shawn; his sisters, Doris Rodriquez (Fidel) and Peggy Inskeep (Wayne); his brother-in-law Ronnie Smith (Lindsey); his great grandchildren, Brylan Peebles (Emma) and Dylan Peebles; his great great grandchild Rynlee Joy Peebles; and his pets, Dally, Rider and Athena. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
