He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Spurgin and Alice Spurgin (McCartney). He is survived by: his wife Barbara Spurgin; his sons, Tim Spurgin of Brady and Lee Spurgin of Oklahoma; and his sister Cindy Russell of Louisiana. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Leatherwood Memorial Chapels (1001 S Elm St, Brady, TX 76825). A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Rochelle Cemetery (160 County Rd 423, Rochelle, TX 76872).
