She was predeceased by: her father Taylor Monroe; her siblings, Myrtle Fields, Doris Brooks, Taylor E. Monroe, Jr., Michael Bennett Monroe and Nathan Lee Monroe; her close friend Lester C. Whitmire, Sr.; her sister-in-law Perrie Monroe; her nieces, Constance Lynn Monroe Pratt and Helen Michelle; her great-nephew Evan Taylor Monroe; and her cousins, Georgia A. Thomas, Donna Edmonson, Ashley Young, Leah Mayon and Alexandria Thomas.
She is survived by: her children, Baby Smurf, Bubbles, Bo and Bobbie.

She was a loyal member of the Heroines of Jericho for over 30 years, advocated for blood donation, and later in life she volunteered with Baker Ripley and worked with the Houston Police Department to support the relationship between the Sunnyside community and police.
