He is survived by: his wife Yolanda Kendrick Townsend; his mother Erma Townsend Turk Bryant; his children, Roy Townsend, Jr. (Marcella), Errick Townsend, Steven Townsend, Troy Townsend, LaKeisha Solis (Mac) and LaToya Clower; his sister Joyce Turk Livingston; and his siblings-in-law, Charlotte K. Heard, Melva Mack (Larry), Helen Griggs Vina (Rodney) and Matthew King, Jr.. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
