He was predeceased by : his parents, Argonia Handley and William Handley (Liz Handley); his brother Jerry Handley; his grandson Matthew Garcia; and his niece Dianna Thibodeaux.

He is survived by : his daughters, Gina Helms (Ethel Brooks), Lisa Isaacson (Bryan), Kimberly Armstrong (Micheal), Ruthann Jones (Wilmer Ramos) and Roxanne Handley; and his siblings, Mary Shell, Linda Shell and Johnny Handley (Laura). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren.
