He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Kalbow and Hertha Kalbow; his wife Leona Kalbow (Hohlt); his children-in-law, Debbie Kalbow and Jerry Redden; and his brothers, Raymond and Arthur Kalbow.

He is survived by: his children, Kenneth Kalbow of Riesel and Verlyn Redden of Palestine; his grandchildren, Michael Kalbow (April) of Gladewater, Leslie Bates (Allen) of Pflugerville, Kevin Kalbow of Riesel, Kasey Englehart (Dustin) of Palestine, Paige Miller (John) of Willis and Jody Redden; and his great grandchildren, Clayton Bates, Katelyn Englehart, Tristan Englehart, Genevieve Miller and John Barton Miller.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Memorial Oaks Chapel (1306 W Main St, Brenham, TX 77833). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church- Wiedeville (4529 Wiedeville Church Rd, Brenham, TX 77833).
