She was predeceased by: her parents, George Tommy Newman and Mattie Louise Newman; her husband Edward Ray Averitt; her brother Tommy Gene Newman; her sister-in-law Gayle Denise Newman; and her parents-in-law, Edward Arthur Averitt and Betty Dawn Averitt.
She is survived by: her children, Misti Averitt and Matthew Averitt; her grandchildren, Lane Perez and Talyn Perez; and her siblings-in-law, Wanda Iselt, David Averitt and Paul Averitt. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Memorial Oaks Chapel (1306 W Main St, Brenham, TX 77833). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Good Hope Cemetery.
