We announce the death of George Allen Edward Sr. of Brenham, Texas, who passed away on October 16, 2026, at the age of 85. He was predeceased by: his parents, Phil W. Edwards and Bertha Edwards (Waddell); his wife Frances Loretta Smith; and his sisters, Priscella Jane and Glen Dean.
He is survived by: his children, Kimberly Cordova and George Allen Edwards Jr. (Staci); his grandchildren, George A. Edwards III (Abby Barnwell), Matthew Cordova (Lindsay), Holly Cordova (Oliver Moran-Pryor) and Christian Edwards; and his great grandchildren, Georgia Ivy Edwards and George Samson Edwards IV. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Brenham Church of Christ (2800 Victory Ln, Brenham, TX 77833). A burial was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Prairie Lea Cemetery (1004 Prairie Lea St, Brenham, TX 77833).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brenham Church of Christ or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
