He is survived by: his wife Otha Howard; his sons, John Howard Jr. (Sharon) and Michael Howard (Cresia); his brother Joe Howard (Lucille); his stepchildren, Geneva Kallie, Bernice Roberson, Dorothy Smith, Clarence Smith Jr. and Tom Smith; his grandchildren, Nicholas Watts (Latoya), Jason Smith (Jonne), Sherman Smith, Moniqua Watts, Marcus Green, Nathan Smith, Terrance Howard (Jasmine), Danielle Smith, Trenton Howard, Donna Smith, David Smith, John Howard III, Carolyn Howard and Amirah Vallery; and his nieces and nephews, Catha Milam, Lucille Ringer, Tommie Sullivan and Don Ray Howard. He is also survived by 33 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter.
