He was predeceased by: his parents, Katherine Chovanec and Joe F. Chovanec; his wife Sheila Kay Macat Chovanec; his parents-in-law, Erna and Alvin "Cotton" Macat; his close friend Mike "Papa Mike" Ogg; and his brother Thomas Chovanec.
He is survived by: his children, Danny Chovanec and Becky Chovanec Ogg; his children-in-law, Keitha Chovanec of Bleiblerville and Michael Ogg of Brenham; his grandchildren, Fallon Chovanec, Gunner Chovanec, Shelby Ogg and Cora Ogg; his sister Billie "Bebe" Ogg of Brenham; and his close friend Tona Marrs.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Knesek Family Funeral Chapel - Bellville - License (842 E Main St, Bellville, TX 77418). A rosary was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church (15994 Fordtran Blvd, Industry, TX 78944). A burial was held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 at 802 Cemetery Rd, Bellville, TX 77418.
