He was predeceased by : his father Amos Dee Buckner. He is survived by : his mother Walterine Tabb Buckner; his wife Phyllis Kathleen Bruce; his children, Nicholas Buckner (Kelly) and Katie Garza (Chris); his grandchildren, Avery Buckner, Hailey Bandy, Jayden Bandy and Grayson Garza; his sisters, Vicki Reber (Blair) and Kimberly Youngquist (Brian); and his nieces and nephews, Kurt Reber, Sommer Bridges, Samantha Scofield and Phyllis Wolfe (Bruce).

A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Jenkins Funeral Home (109 N Main St, Burnet, TX 78611).
