He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Ashby and Eula French Ashby; his wife Sandra Ferrel Ridley Ashby; and his daughter Sandra Gay Ashby. He is survived by: his children, Sherry Scales (Clay) and Alan Ashby (Beth); and his grandchildren, Brandon Meyers, Ryan Meyers, Jared Scales (Crystal), Cole Ashby (Melissa), Sabrina Meyers, Elissa Scales, Amanda Thompson (Garrett), Brentsen, Crystal Jo, Bradley, Lillian, Zariah, Tucker, Tripp, Hank and Lyndi.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jerry's memory can be made to St. Paul Methodist Church, 1155 W. Roundbunch Rd. Bridge City, TX 77611.
