He is survived by: his sons, Michael J. Smith and James Ernest Smith; his sister Frances Garrison; and his grandchildren, Ben Smith of Fort Worth, Zachary Smith of Whitney and Mary Smith of Whitney, Texas. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.
