He is survived by: his wife Lillian Craig (Sissy); his daughters, Deanna Platz and Crystal MacDonald; his sons-in-law, Eric Platz and Colin MacDonald; his grandchildren, Hannah, Bailey Platz, Hugh, Tyler and Craig MacDonald; his sister Jean Caffey; his nephew Rodney Caffey; his brother-in-law Harrison Graham; his nephew Mark Graham; and his nieces, Robin Wright (family: Ashley Mott) and Mollie Clark.

“Dean was a great guy to work with. We shared so many experiences during my visits to Chicago. The best tended to be around trade shows at McCormack Place and always included Jeff Jowett. Dean would start planning dinners a month out. He knew where to go to get the best of every cuisine. One night would always end at Buddy Guy's Legends listening to the blues and telling stories.
