With sadness, we share the passing of Bruce Woods of Brownfield, Texas. Bruce, born on May 26, 1952 in Abilene, Texas, passed away on October 18, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Edgar "Bill" Woods and Myrna Joyce Woods; his grandparents, Jack, Mae Hendricks, Tony, Maxine Reeves and Maurine Coker; his aunt Reeta Pruitt; and his uncle Jack Coker Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Woods of Brownfield; his sons, Brian Woods of Frisco and Brent Woods of Lubbock, Texas; his brother Brad Woods (Barbara) of Denver City, Texas; his niece Brittny Woods (Chris) of Sachse, Texas; his nephew Brady Woods of Sachse, Texas; his great-nephew Jackson Woods of Sachse, Texas; his brother-in-law Ron Rummel of Lubbock, Texas; and his aunts, Delores Robertson and Alice Cuthers. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Calvary Baptist Church (402 W Broadway St, Brownfield, TX 79316). He continued his career at Brownfield Savings and Loan and later at First National Bank of Brownfield, where he worked until his retirement in 2019, just in time to be confined at home during the COVID-19 pandemic.
