He is survived by: his brother Carlos; and his children, Elsa Maribel Garcia, Mario Alfonso Villarreal, Eduardo Francisco Villarreal, Luis Alberto Villarreal and Martha Isabel Villarreal Bellomy. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
