He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou Carson; and his children, Jon A. Carson Jr. (Stephanie) of Bangs, Sandelynn Chovanetz (Eric) of Rockwall and Gary Meyer of Krum. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Brownwood Public Library.
