He was predeceased by: his parents, A. L. Marks and Carrie Marks; his former wife Stella Jo "Jody" Childers; his granddaughter Lacey Anne Youngblood-Hernandez; and his close friends, Jack Kirkland and Paul Driggers.

He is survived by: his wife Loretta L. Marks of Bryan; his children, Kristy Pemberton (Lesli), Ricky Marks (Melissa) of Bandera, Todd Marks of Eagle Pass and Deidra Wallin (Keith) of Bryan; his grandchildren, Taylor Marks of Austin, Hunter Marks of Roanoke, Mallory Marks of Fort Worth, Morgan, Ruby Anne, Luka Marks of Bandera, Jillian Peters, Rick Hernandez of Saginaw and Macarena Vizueta of Santiago Chile; and his great grandchildren, Levi and Jett.
