She was loved and cherished by many people including: her sister Mary Simpson of North Carolina; her sons, Mike (Susan Hahn), Jeff (Sandra Presnal) and Keith (Laurie Alter); her parents, Rufus P. Batten and Jesse Crenshaw Batten; her daughter Virginia Boedeker; and her significant other Robert N. Alter. She was also cherished by 12 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren.
