She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Nelson and Ella Nelson of Bryan, Texas.. She is survived by: her significant other Lamar Jefferson; her children, James Lee Jefferson (Mamie) of Natchitoches, LA, Lillian Nell McDaniel, JoAnn McCoy, Elouise Jefferson, LaDon Jefferson (Ruby) and Lisa Jefferson Hall; her siblings, W. Z. Nelson and Jessie M. Jackson; her grandchildren, Bridgette Jefferson, Morniqua Dawkins and RaShawn; her great grandchild Christopher Eddington; and her sister Sally Davis. She is also survived by 16 Grandchildren; 35 Great-grandchildren, 23 Great- great-grandchildren; and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Other Relative.
