He was predeceased by: his wife Dawna Marie Russell-Carlton; his brother Allen Carlton; his brothers-in-law, Jim Haney and William Hurley; his nephew Jason Keene; and his daughter-in-law Joy Raspberry Carlton.
He is survived by: his children, Casie Marie Scarmardo (Jeremie), Kimberly Ann Patton (Jonathan), John David Carlton (Bebe) and Blake Carlton (Liz); his grandchildren, Mariah Scarmardo (Peyton Polston), Leslie Cook (Clayton), Molly Scarmardo, Zedekiah Carlton, Bella Roy, Zoe Roy, Zaiden Patton and Haley Carlton-McCulley (Mark); his great grandchildren, Joy McCulley, Paisleigh Cook, Cambree Cook and Brody Knox McCulley; his sisters, Linda Haney, Sheila Johns (David) and Bonnie Sue Keene (Danny); and his pet Fedora. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
