Longtime resident of Baytown, Texas, David “Pookie” Evans, was living in semi-retirement in Bryan-College Station, close to his beloved Texas A&M at the time of his death. He was predeceased by his mother, Florence (McGahee) and stepfather J. C. Mitchell, Larose, LA; his father, David Evans and stepmother, Louise; Baytown; and wife Twillia Rombs Baker Evans. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Evans Boudreaux, and grandsons, Evan David Boudreaux, Kyle Bryant Joseph Boudreaux, and Reese Thomas Leonard,; his son, David M. "Bubba" Evans; daughter, Gladys Kathleen Baker Pace, husband Matt, and grandchildren Nick Pace and Alex Anne Pace, Katy, Texas; son, Charles Roy Baker, Baytown, Texas; son, Andy Keith Baker, daughter-in-law Mary, Seabrook, Texas, and grandchildren, Andy, Jr. Julianne, Shauna, Steven, and John Roth; son, Jack Steven Baker, wife, Kim, and granddaughters, Taylor Baker and Clayton Baker, Baytown, Texas; son, Kimber Ross Baker, wife, Laura, and grandson, Friendswood, Texas ; and son, David Anthony Baker, Baytown, Texas, and grandson, Ryan Baker.; his sister Theresa Hatton Rodgers and brother-in-law , Dennis Rodgers, Prairieville, Louisiana.; sister, Nancy Evans Buzzbee and brother-in-law, Rex Buzbee; sister, Betty Evans Choate and brother-in-law, John Choate; and brother, Carl W.
