She was predeceased by: her parents, Anastacio Ortega and Maria Antonia Ortega; her husband John Joe Garcia; her daughter Maria Christina Garcia; her grandsons, Louis Don Garcia and Martin William Garcia; her daughter-in-law Estela Garcia (Stella); and her siblings, Hilario Ortega (Larry), Feles Ortega (Felix), Celestino Ortega (Tino), Lucavia Martinez (Janie), Apolonia Zarazua (Pola), Rosalvina VeraCruz (Rosa) and Margarita Bill (Margie).
She is survived by: her children, Roy John Garcia (Anita), Hector Luis Garcia, Dora Anna Guerrero (Pablo), Rita Luna and Beatrice Salinas (Ricardo); and her sister Esperanza Lara (Hope). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Memorial Funeral Chapel (1515 S College Ave, Bryan, TX 77801). A rosary will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at the Santa Teresa Catholic Church (1212 Lucky St, Bryan, TX 77803).
She was a devout member of Santa Teresa Catholic Church where she was involved in many church activities and served the parish through prayer and charity work as a member of the religious association the Guadalupanas.
