She was predeceased by: her parent Ysabel Vela; her sisters, Maria Ybarra, Otillia Perez and Hilda Bazan; her daughter Emily Ann Vela; and her grandchildren, Leo Pena, Jacob Luna and Sandra Vela.
She is survived by: her children, Ysabel Vela, Joseph Vela (Rachel), Jessie Vela (Gloria), John Vela, Willie Vela (Alex), Michael Vela (Melinda), Christopher Vela, Steven Vela (Brittany), Emma Bernal (Elias), San Juanita Zuniga, Margie Vela, Shirley Vela and Lucy Vela; and her brother Jimmy Munoz (Pat). She is also survived by 50 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
