He was predeceased by: his parents, James M. Johnson and Ada Nolen Johnson; his wife Jessie Fay Lakey Johnson; his daughter Lynn Johnson Harrison; his son-in-law Harrison, Jr.; and his granddaughter Crystal Johnson Bynum.
He is survived by: his son Gerald Johnson (Clevia); his granddaughter Kimberly Johnson Sink (Carey); and his great grandchildren, Kirsten Bynum, Kyle Sink and Kade Sink. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
