He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Evans Phillips and Mildred Montgomery Phillips; and his children, Cynthia Elizabeth and Jame Barney Jr.. He is survived by: his former wife Charlene Meriam; and his wife Joanna Phillips. He is also survived by his four grandchildren.
