He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Burkett and Edrie Burkett; his siblings, Gerald, Kenneth Burkett, Peggy Scott and Carol Burnett; and his sister-in-law Sherry Burkett.
He is survived by: his wife Jill Burkett; his children, Robert Burkett of Houston and Carrie Burkett of College Station; and his siblings, Edward Burkett, Bertha (Ronnie Briggs), Russell Burkett of Lincoln and Deana (Andy Wheeler).
