It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joe Burkett of Bryan, Texas, born in Houston, Texas, who passed away on July 9, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Burkett and Edrie Burkett; his siblings, Gerald, Kenneth Burkett, Peggy Scott and Carol Burnett; and his sister-in-law Sherry Burkett.
He is survived by: his wife Jill Burkett; his children, Robert Burkett of Houston and Carrie Burkett of College Station; and his siblings, Edward Burkett, Bertha (Ronnie Briggs), Russell Burkett of Lincoln and Deana (Andy Wheeler).
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Memorial Funeral Chapel (1515 S College Ave, Bryan, TX 77801). A memorial service was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
