He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Clarence and Edith Virginia Ashford (Barrick); his wife Becky Ashford; his grandchildren, Justin, Garrett and Emily; and his siblings, Clarence, Emmitt, Larry and Carolyn.
He is survived by: his children, Marsha Pleasant (Donald) of Pollok, Texas, Mona Ashford of Lufkin, Texas, Angela Miller (Martin Taylor) of Bellville, Texas, Tammy Patterson (Robert) of Magnolia, Texas and Michael Ashford of Buffalo, Texas.; his grandchildren, Sheldon, Dalton, Jacob, Jordan, Lacie, Morgan, Jaden and Ethan; and his siblings, Lonnie Ashford of New Waverly, Cheryl McDaniel of New Waverly, Texas, Lois Hatten of Dayton, Texas and Freida Blackwell of Casper.
A funeral service was held on Monday, March 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home (249 Humphreys Rd, Buffalo, TX 75831). Visitation was held on Monday, March 9th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location.
