He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Estelle Bennett and Willie Smith Bennett; his brothers, Willie Bennett and Baylus Bennett; and his former wife Betty Jane Bennett.
He is survived by: his wife Cherri Bennett (Rita); and his children, Brenda Ann Shaw (Wayne), Lee Ayers Bennett (Denise), Shonna De'Anne Martin (Mark) and Dawna Shalene Dohogne (Dan). He is also survived by ten grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren.
