He was predeceased by: his parents, Lillie LeDeaux Smith and Iris Newton Smith; his brother Ronald Smith; and his nephew Gordon Smith, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Katherine Smith; his children, Elizabeth Hillquist (Don) of Vidor, Russell Smith (Kimla) of Orange and Stephanie Bush of Groves; his stepson Joel Lene (Tonya) of Vidor; and his brother Gordon Smith. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
