With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Virginia Nell Shannon of Buna, Texas, who passed away on April 29, 2026 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Virginia may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry A. Shannon and Ivy Shannon (Freeman); and her brother Jack. She is survived by: her husband Lawrence Baker; her sister-in-law Nan Shannon; and her nephew Lee.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital or Habitat for Humanity.
