He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Arlon Weems of Stephenville, Ofelia Pate of Bluff Dale, Gammy and LaRue Weems of Stephenville. He is survived by: his wife Melissa Pate; his children, William Dunaway and Melanie Pate of Burleson; his parents, Rodney Pate and Leann Pate of Stephenville, Texas; his sister Jennifer Pate of Howell; his grandfather Marlin Pate of Bluff Dale; his mother-in-law Alice Swanson of Burleson, Texas; his siblings-in-law, Alex and Kristy Philips; his niece Madison Philips of Burleson, Texas; and his friend Lord. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In his final act of service, Mark gave the gift of life to others through organ donation.
