He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Bross and Thelma Bross; and his sister Gloria Rhodes. He is survived by: his children, Jenniffer Moore, Jessica Kreusel and James Albert Bross Jr.; his sister Linda Alewine; his grandchildren, Sarah, Taylor, Sadie, Sophia and Jamie; and his great grandchildren, Olivia, Lilly, Malakai and Genevieve.
He loved woodworking and used his talents to build "book nooks" for his community and to create wooden crosses that he shared as symbols of hope and comfort after the COVID pandemic.
