He was predeceased by: his parents, Lera Inez Bateman Platter and Roy Platter; and his siblings, Dorothy Burton, Haskell "Buster" Platter, Calvin Platter and Paul Platter.
He is survived by: his wife Lee Platter; his daughters, Tina Pickens (Jim), Kristi Whitaker (Eric) and Jennifer Don Arriola (Chris); his grandchildren, Chelsea, Jay, Sam, Collin, Claire, Gavin and Sadie; his great grandchildren, Ava, Watson, Maizie and Jax; and his sister Patsy Rabe (Dale). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
