Kathi May (Billingsley) Davis Obituary

Kathi May Davis fell asleep in death on June 4, 2026. She was 78 years old. She was a cherished mother, sister, grandmother and friend and she will be deeply missed.
Kathi was born in Brisbane, California and was the daughter of Lewis and Katherine Billingsley. She graduated from Mineola High School in Mineola, Long Island, New York.
She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in February of 1979 at the Ruston, Louisiana Civic Center.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Carol Green of Bastrop, Louisiana, and her grandchild April Davis (Melissa). She is survived by her husband, Richard Davis; her four sons, Mark Singleman (Patrice) of Tyler, Texas, Bryan Singleman (Ginger) of Canton, Texas, Scott Singleman (Katie) of Canton, Texas, and Steven Davis (Caroline) of Fort Worth, Texas; and her sisters, Teresa Huff of Homer, Louisiana and Marie Stephenson (David) of Crossett, Arkansas. Also surviving her are stepchildren Sherry Davis, Richie Davis, Donald Davis and Melissa Davis. She is survived by grandchildren, Crystal Kline (Connor), Amanda Singleman (Jeremy), Jacob Singleman, Ethan Singleman, Elijah Singleman, Madeline Davis, Tyler Smith (Margaret), Cody Smith (Sayla), and Heather Cleary (Clay). Also, great grandchildren Ellie Kline, Oliver Kline, Revel Smith and Patmos Smith survive her. She is survived as well by many nieces, nephews, and friends who will all miss her very much.
Kathi's greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren and her life of service to her God Jehovah. She found great joy in sharing her faith with all who would listen. She showed that faith by her regular attendance at meetings and conventions of Jehovah's Witnesses even through the most difficult circumstances. She did this even with four energetic little boys by her side. She served with many congregations over the years beginning her spiritual life with the West Monroe, Louisiana Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and later with the Grand Saline, Texas congregation as well as with the Terrell, Texas and Canton, Texas congregation.
She wished to have expressed here how much she appreciated the support of her spiritual family through the years. She especially appreciated all the support during her recent transition from Terrell, Texas to Canton, Texas. All the love and help she received were a real demonstration of the loving relationship she enjoyed with her spiritual family.

One of the memories she wished to share were of weekly card games she shared with the sisters in the Terrell, Texas congregation. Those were truly upbuilding and encouraging times for her, and she appreciated it so much.
One of her favorite privileges was the joy of hosting a group of her spiritual brothers and sisters at her home for meetings to organize for the ministry each week.
She found much happiness in getting together with her sons and their families and her sisters and their families with many nieces and nephews attending as well. These were happy occasions for her.
She was present at many congregation gatherings over the years which she found encouraging. Her spiritual family was a large one that she valued very much.
Another favorite thing she loved was attending weddings of her friends and family.
Many times, she took part in what she called "party nights". She loved the games and card playing and getting to visit with everyone there.
Kathi's dad always had boats when they lived on Long Island. The ocean was a bit daunting for her, but she loved swimming in the pool. Pool aerobics was a favorite of hers.
She also wished to share a message of encouragement with everyone. She said that even through her illness she felt like Jehovah was holding her hand and letting her know everything would be ok. She said to let everyone know not to be too sad because it is not "goodbye" but only "see you later". She said to tell everyone to keep on smiling and laughing and we will see each other again soon.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 13th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (12480 TX 19 75103).
