It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sharon Lou Evans Byrd of Canyon, Texas, who passed away on October 18, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Bob Byrd; and her parents, Helene Thornton and Afton Thornton. She is survived by: her children, Steve Byrd of Claude, Amy West of Canyon and Cindy Cummings (Brett) of Bushland; her brother Tommy Thornton (Norma) of Las Vegas, NM; her grandchildren, Austin Bradshaw of Red River, NM, Cambri Cummings of Plano, TX, Ella Cummings of Bushland, TX, Bryce Cummings (Michelle) of Amarillo, TX and Brant Cummings (Ashley) of New Home, TX; and her great grandchildren, Barrett, Beckham, Asher and Emery. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Brooks Chapel (1702 5th Ave, Canyon, TX 79015). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the First Methodist Church of Canyon (1818 4th Ave, Canyon, TX 79015). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Claude Cemetery.
