She was predeceased by: her parents, Rudolf Bering and Bertha Bauer of Germany; and her grandparents, Georg, Christine Bering, Karl and Ceuta Bauer.

She is survived by: her sons, Christopher Walter Smith and Tyson Lester Smith; and her grandchildren, Colton Bering Smith and Gwendolyn Eve Smith.
