It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Alexander of Carthage, Texas, born in Shreveport, Louisiana, who passed away on May 18, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Glenn Alexander and Vera Alexander; his in-laws, John and Jimmie Brooks; and his granddaughter Miranda Alexander.

He is survived by : his wife Barbara Brooks Alexander; his children, Billy Alexander (Ashlee), Kelli Alexander Blackerby (Scott) and Dr. John Alexander (Misty); his grandchildren, Hunter Alexander (Ashlyn), Conner Alexander, Seth Blackerby, Brooke Blackerby and Jody Alexander; and his brothers, Glenn Alexander (Marjorie) and Randy Alexander (Carrie).

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 21st 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home (1131 TX-149, Carthage, TX 75633). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 22nd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel (1131 TX-149, Carthage, TX 75633). A burial was held on Wednesday, May 22nd 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Waldrop Cemetery.
