He was predeceased by: his parents, Brink Powell and Leona Powell; and his siblings, Ola Lee, Iva Franks, Ruth Garlington, Doris Barlow, Elmer Powell, Alfred Powell, Bill Powell and Hollis Powell.
He is survived by: his wife Annette Shepherd Powell; his sons, John David Powell and Steven Ray Powell; his brothers, Glen Powell (Ginger) and Charles Wayne Powell (Lori) of Houston, TX; and his sister-in-law Georgia Shepherd. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
