He was predeceased by: his parents, Katherine Pugh and Allen Pugh; his siblings, James, Sam (Dan), Robert and Ruth; and his wife Charlotte.

He is survived by: his daughters, Dana Godfrey (Darren) and Julie Valdez; his grandchildren, Amy Ruzicka (Stephen), Grant Godfrey and Sophia Valdez; and his sister Mary Satterfield. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, and other extended family.

“I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Coach Pugh. He was my elementary school coach at TG Terry in Dallas. Also, I would sell programs for him at the Cotton Bowl professional football games on Sundays. He was a good football and basketball coach as we played for the championship in football and never lost a basketball game in three years. May he rest in peace.”
