He was predeceased by : his parents, Wiley King and Minnie King; and his siblings, Novella Justice and Joe King. He is survived by : his wife Sue Fitzpatrick; his children, Gina Martin Douglas (Jon) and Kevin King (Candy); his stepchildren, Jon Fitzpatrick and Susan Fitzpatrick; his grandchildren, Jason King, Brian King, Kevin King, Alicia Gelles, Casey Krall and Cody King; his stepgrandchildren, Ashley, Bryce and Jason; his great grandchildren, Nahaley Cloud, Ashley King, Kristen King, Bailey Stachowski, Brice Gelles, Josh Gelles, Finn Krall, Rodes Krall and Danica King; and his nieces and nephews, Ruth Johnson, Eddie King, Vicky Wise, Peggy Neblung and Mark King.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel (538 Tracy Grove Rd, Hendersonville, NC 28792). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
