She was predeceased by : her parents, Ivey Alexander and Maureen Sims Alexander; her husband O. H. Polley; and her siblings, Nedra Tillman, Waymon Alexander, James Alexander and Jack Alexander.

She is survived by : her children, Charlotte Sparks (H. B.) and Mike Polley (Raj); her grandchildren, Ashley Golden (D. D.), Hillary McElroy (Collin), Radha Polley, Nikhil Polley and Anjali Polley; her great grandchildren, Gavin Golden, Mason Golden, Connor McElroy, Tucker McElroy and Olivia Jamie McElroy; her pet Bo; and her caregivers, Francis Ann Jeans, Lee Posados and Sheila McCollister.
