He is survived by: his wife Diane Mayes; his children, Wendye Durio (Ivory), LaTousha Mayes, Joseph Mayes (Teresa), Da'Shai Mayes (Christopher), Denard Lankford (Gwen) and Darnell Lankford; his siblings, Helen Bell (Gene), Beverly Ann Mayes, Sharon Smith, Brenda Waters and Quentin Mayes (Laquinta); and his aunt Alice Hayes. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
